  23. I'd have to check my disks at home to make sure what 3.1 did, since
  24. there have been a couple of different bullet implementations. However,
  25. one or more of the following is true for all OS releases since
  26. 2.04. Keep in mind that "bullet" is not the key issue, but CG
  27. IntelliFont support:

  29. 1. diskfont.library understands .otag files and uses bullet.library
  30. to create bitmap fonts from the IntelliFont typefaces the .otags point
  31. to.

  33. 2. diskfont.library understands .otag files and is capable of creating
  34. bitmaps from IntelliFonts by itself.
  35.  
  36. 3. Two diskfont.library versions on OS install disks: one (smaller,
  37. since the larger didn't fit on the disk) on the Workbench disk, the
  38. larger, "real" diskfont.library on the Fonts or Storage disk.

  40. While we're on the issue, by the way: .otag is a special file that
  41. tells diskfont.library that a font is not a pure bitmap font, but
  42. instead has a vector typeface stored somewhere. The file tells the
  43. location of the typeface file, and the name of the library that can
  44. read it and create the needed bitmaps from it.

  46. A complete OS install should have a couple of .otag files in FONTS:,
  47. and the FONTS:__bullet (or something like that) directory where the
  48. typefaces themselves are stored. The corresponding .font file and the
  49. bitmap directory are not necessary.
